3 Ways to Banish Dark Circles - Even After Martini Night
The Scenario: You’re prepping for the job interview that could land you your dream position, but last night’s Cosmos weren’t exactly the best way to calm those frazzled nerves. Martini night has now left you with a a serious case of excess baggage - under your eyes, that is.
If dark circles under your eyes and puffy eyelids are greeting you on the Monday a.m. routine, here are three easy tips for getting that healthy, well-rested look:
1. Grab the right tools. Many a beauty maven counts on her pinky to dab on that concealer, but when the day calls for some extra help, you’ll need to pull out the heavy artillery. Cover up the dark half-moons in a few easy sweeps using a large oval brush; just apply a layer of your favorite concealer directly onto the skin, let dry and then dab it with your pinky to blend. It’s the best way to create that flawless finish.
2. Highlight the lower lids. If you’re used to wearing white or cream-colored eye liner on your lower lids, you already know how to create an instant eye-opening look. Use white eyeliner generously on the inside of the lower lids to brighten up your look and draw attention away from those ghastly dark circles. Adding a few dabs of mascara to the lower lids also helps draw attention, up, up and away.
3. Cheat a little more. When you need an instant fix for too-tired eyes, befriend this Eye Bright stick from Benefit. It’s a light pink eye brightener that, the experts say, is ‘like a nap in a stick.’ You can outline your eyes with a few sweeps of this lifesaver and head out the door with piece of mind. (At least until next time).
Another fast-fix solution for the unwanted goth look? A few dabs of Benefit’s Erase Paste. HQ also put this one to the test, and found it to be plenty trustworthy for saying goodbye to the haggard-look-du-jour.
